The tropical garden (2.300 sqm) is located around the chalets and the swimming pool. It is secured, so your kids can play safely. Enjoy the bougainvilleas, hibiscus, orchids, lemon trees, allamandas, balisiers, canas and many other flowers.
The private swimming pool is unattended and fully secured according to the French regulations (8m x 4m, 1.6m at maximum depth).
Chalets "Tropical Fishes" 2-3pers:
Each chalet (about 30sqm) has private access and can accommodate 2 to 3 guests. It is equipped as follow:
* One bedroom with a queen or king size bed, a single bed, TV, mosquito net and ventilator.
* A separate bathroom with shower, sink, toilet and one cabinet.
* All bed linen and towels are provided and changed once a week. Don't forget to bring your own beach towels.
* Iron and ironing board upon request.
* A separate kitchenette fully equipped with sink, refrigerator, 2 cooking plates, toaster, coffee machine, chinaware, cooking utensils and BBQ.
* A private terrace without neighbours, with table, chairs and hammock. Open view, garden and Caribbean sea.
* Baby bed, baby chair and baby back-chair for excursions upon request (depending on availability).
* Chalets are available from 2pm, and returned at 11am the day of the departure.
* They are returned as clean as you found it (final cleaning can be arranged for 20€).
Twin Chalets with terrace for groups:
The Twin Chalets (about 73sqm) has private access and can accommodate 4 to 6 guests. It is equipped as follow:
* 2 bedrooms with a queen or king size bed and a single bed each, TV, mosquito net and ventilator.
* 2 separate bathroom with shower, sink, toilet and cabinet.
* All bed linen and towels are provided and changed once a week. Don't forget to bring your own beach towels.
* Iron and ironing board upon request.
* A separate kitchen fully equipped with sink, refrigerator, 4 gas burners, toaster, micro-wave, coffee machine, chinaware, cooking utensils and BBQ.
* A private terrace without neighbours, with table, chaises and hammock. Sea view over the Pigeon Islands from the Cousteau Marine Park.
* Baby bed, baby chair and baby back-chair for excursions upon request (upon availability).
* Chalets are available from 2pm, and returned at 11am the day of the departure.
* They are returned as clean as you found it (final cleaning can be arranged for 40€).
* The covered terrace can accommodate groups up to 12 persons for meals and the kitchen has been fully refurbished.
One chalet is fully equipped for disabled persons:
* Adapted ramp for access with wheelchair and parking space with disabled logo.
* Double bed with 2 mattresses of 90cm each, kitchenette fully equipped as for the “Tropical fishes” cottages.
* Enlarged doors for entrance, shower room and kitchenette (1m20), special toilets, handles/bars and seat in the shower room.
Air conditioned Bungalow "Marlin" 2-4pers:
The Bungalow (about 40sqm) can accommodate up to 4 guests. It is equipped as follow:
* One bedroom with a queen size bed and two single beds, air-con split unit, mosquito net, TV and radio-CD player.
* A separate bathroom with shower, sink, toilet and one cabinet.
* All bed linen and towels are included and changed once a week. Don't forget to bring your own beach towels.
* A separate fully equipped kitchenette with sink, refrigerator, 2 cooking plates, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, barbecue, chinaware and cooking utensils.
* A large terrace without neighbours, with table, chairs, hammock. Great sea view over the Pigeon Islands from the Cousteau Marine Park (left picture above).
* Baby bed, baby chair and baby back-chair for excursions upon request (upon availability).
* Beach toys for your kids.
* The bungalow is available from 2pm and returned at 11am the day of the departure.

Beautiful location at the center of the Basse-Terre region, only 1 km off the sea, halfway between Deshaies and the town of Basse-Terre. Close by the road crossing the island, you are 5 minutes off the "Cousteau Marine Park" and about 40 minutes off the main excursion sites: volcano "la Soufrière", waterfalls of Carbet, waterfalls of Matouba, ...
A typical day in Guadeloupe:
Comfortably installed in one of our chalets located in the middle of a tropical garden, you will enjoy breakfast on your private terrace, watching the hummingbirds. During the day, our partners will guide you underwater through the magnificent "Cousteau marine park". You can also discover the tropical forest, climb the "Soufrière" volcano, meet the whales or visit the neighbouring islands. Late afternoon, you will enjoy the swimming pool before sipping a ti'punch and have dinner in a typical "Creole" restaurant close by.

Locating us by car from the Airport:
The Chalets "Sous-le-Vent" are located 40 Km away from the Pointe à Pitre Airport. Getting out of the Airport, follow directions to Basse-Terre until the Versailles crossing, then follow the D23 road (route de la Traversée) towards Bouillante. After the "col des Mamelles" (615m alt.), at the Bouillante/Pointe-Noire crossing turn left. Drive another 7 km to reach the Malendure beach, facing the Cousteau Marine Park. Continue for about 3 km and pass the petrol station, then at Pigeon after the street bumpers cross the small bridge, then turn left right after the Post Office. You can see "Sous-le-Vent" advert boards along the Post office. Climb the Poirier road for 1 km, the Chalets "Sous-le-Vent" are on your left, 200m above the signboard "Restaurant le Paradis Créole". |
